FAQs
What airport should I fly into?
Please plan to fly into and depart from Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). Your trip includes one scheduled group airport transfer from ORD to the hotel on arrival day and one scheduled group transfer from the hotel to ORD on departure day. To use the included transfers, your flights must fall within the designated group transfer schedule. Flight and transfer guidance will be provided prior to departure.
What if my flight is outside the group transfer schedule?
Travelers arriving or departing outside the designated transfer schedule will be responsible for arranging and paying for their own transportation between O'Hare Airport and the hotel.
What happens if my flight is delayed and I miss the group transfer?
Please notify your BTI Host if you experience a flight delay. Because the group transfer cannot be held indefinitely, you may need to arrange alternate transportation at your own expense. We strongly recommend travel insurance with appropriate travel-delay coverage.
Where will we stay?
Our planned accommodations are at The Blackstone Hotel or a similar property in downtown Chicago. Final hotel details will be provided with your pre-departure information.
Will I have free time in Chicago?
Absolutely. Labor Day is your free day in Chicago. There are no scheduled BTI activities during the daytime. We'll come back together that evening for our Chicago After Dark Farewell Event.
Can I visit the Obama Presidential Center during my free day?
Yes. The Obama Presidential Center is one of our recommended optional experiences for Labor Day. Travelers choosing to visit are responsible for applicable Museum admission and transportation.
Are Obama Presidential Museum tickets included?
No. Museum admission is not included. Travelers who wish to visit are responsible for purchasing their own timed-entry tickets and arranging transportation to and from the Center.
What if I don't want to visit the Obama Presidential Center?
No problem. It is simply one option for your free day. There are no required daytime group activities on Labor Day.
Do I have to participate in every scheduled activity?
We hope you'll join us for the experiences we've thoughtfully selected. If you decide to skip a scheduled activity, simply let your BTI Host know in advance so the group isn't delayed waiting for you.
When will I receive my final itinerary?
The itinerary provided when you register reflects the experiences currently planned. More detailed activity times, transportation schedules, dining arrangements and festival programming will be provided closer to departure. Some details may change due to weather, local events, supplier operations, availability or other circumstances.
