Yes! NYC is a renowned hub for culture and safety. From vetted hotels to guided group logistics, every experience—from rooftop lounges to Broadway—prioritizes comfort, inclusion, and ease for Black women travelers.
What airports should I fly into for the NYC tour?
Travelers typically arrive via John F. Kennedy International (JFK) or LaGuardia Airport (LGA). Private group transfers can be pre-arranged for seamless pickup, or we can advise on reliable rideshare options to your Midtown accommodations.
What’s the typical group size for the NYC tour?
We pride ourselves on intimate sisterhood energy—our NYC trips are capped at 20–25 Black women travelers. This ensures heartfelt connections, group flow, and unforgettable shared moments.
When will I receive my finalized NYC itinerary?
Expect your detailed itinerary—including Broadway show details, brunch logistics, rooftop venues, and optional events—30 to 60 days before your tour. We’ll also host two virtual meet-ups so you can meet your travel sisters and ask questions in advance.
Can I attend the US Open during my free day?
Yes. The US Open Tennis Championships are one of the exciting events you may choose to experience during your free day in New York. The tournament traditionally takes place over Labor Day weekend, making it a great option for tennis fans.
US Open tickets are not included in your BTI trip package, and Black Travelers International will not be purchasing or coordinating tickets for the group.
If you would like to attend, you will be responsible for purchasing your own ticket, selecting your preferred session, and arranging transportation to and from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
We recommend purchasing tickets in advance once they become available. Tournament schedules, session times, ticket prices and availability are controlled by the US Open and are subject to change.
Can I attend the West Indian American Day Parade during my free day?
Absolutely. The West Indian American Day Parade & Carnival is another experience you may choose to enjoy independently during your free day.
Held in Brooklyn as part of New York's Labor Day celebrations, the event brings Caribbean culture to life through colorful costumes, music, food, dancing and island pride. The annual parade takes place along Eastern Parkway and is one of New York City's signature Labor Day traditions.
This is not a BTI-organized activity. BTI will not provide tickets, reserved viewing areas, transportation, parade participation or other arrangements for the event.
Travelers who choose to attend will do so independently and should review the official event information, transportation guidance and safety recommendations before attending.
Can I do both the US Open and West Indian American Day Parade?
Potentially, but we recommend choosing the experience that interests you most rather than trying to fit both into the same day.
Both are popular Labor Day events in different parts of New York City, and travel times, crowds and event schedules can make attempting both challenging.
Are the US Open and West Indian American Day Parade included in my trip?
No. Both are suggested independent experiences for your free day and are not included in your BTI trip package.
BTI does not purchase or guarantee tickets, admission, seating, transportation or participation for either event. Their schedules and availability are also outside BTI's control.
Your free day is yours to design—whether that means watching world-class tennis at the US Open, experiencing Caribbean culture in Brooklyn, shopping, sightseeing, dining or simply enjoying New York at your own pace.
When is our free day in New York City?
Your free day is Monday, Labor Day. There are no scheduled BTI group activities during the day, giving you the freedom to create your own New York City experience.
Labor Day is an especially exciting time to be in NYC, with major events taking place throughout the city. You may choose to attend the US Open Tennis Championships, experience the West Indian American Day Parade & Carnival, explore a neighborhood, shop, visit a museum, enjoy a great restaurant, or simply relax and enjoy the city at your own pace.
The US Open and West Indian American Day Parade are suggested free-day experiences only and are not organized or included by BTI. Travelers who choose to attend are responsible for their own tickets or admission, reservations, transportation, and related expenses.
