Itinerary

Day 1- Arrival

Today upon arrival in GIG, we will transfer to our host hotel and get situated in our assigned rooms.  Enjoy your first night at a local jazz club along with your Welcome Dinner

Day 2 - Rio City Tour

After breakfast, we will visit the best of Rio in a single day: Christ the Redeemer by train, Sugarloaf Mountain, Escadaria Selarón, Maracanã Stadium, Sambódromo, Metropolitan Cathedral and lunch at the rodizio steakhouse.

Day 3- Little Africa Tour

Delve deeper into the history of Little Africa in Rio de Janeiro with this insightful and informative walking tour around the city’s Saúde neighborhood. Once the largest African slave market in the world, Rio was the first port of call for millions of slaves arriving in Brazil. From carnival to samba, and food to music and religion to architecture, this guided walking tour shows how their heritage and legacy are still alive in Rio today.

Bonus: Backstage tour of the Carnival Factory where we will learn about the parade’s famous floats and have the opportunity to try on some costumes.

Day 4 - Beach Day

Enjoy the day at the beach. You can lounge on the iconic golden sands, soaking up the sun and enjoying the stunning views of the turquoise waters and lush mountains. Engage in beach volleyball or join a lively game of footvolley with locals, or simply take a refreshing dip in the warm Atlantic. As the day winds down, savor delicious street food from colorful kiosks, and watch the sunset paint the sky with hues of orange and pink, while enjoying the lively atmosphere and rhythms of Brazilian music.

Day 5- Free Day

Today is yours to enjoy free in Rio. Enjoy some optional excursions. You may want to catch a soccer game, take a helicopter ride, enjoy a cooking class, or take a catamaran cruise around the islands. Later we will meet for our last dinner in Rio. Some options can include:

Optional: Tour of Arraial - full day excursion where you will spend the day on a catamaran visiting the beautiful waters.

Day 6 - Depart

After breakfast, spend the morning free at the hotel. Check out of the hotel by 11 AM. Depending on your departure time, you will be transferred to the airport for final departure.

  • Is a Visa or passport required for Brazil?

    US passport holders must have a valid passport for six months past their return date.  


    Beginning April 10, 2025, all US, Canadian, and Australian citizens will be required to obtain a Visa to enter Brazil.

  • What are the immunization requirements for Cartagena?

  • How will I commute from the airport?

    Airport transfers are not included in the package.  However, we can also provide you with our preferred transportation vendor's contact information which will allow you to make transfer arrangements with them on your own account. 


    Transfers from the airport to our host hotel is approximately 40 minutes with light traffic.

  • What are the available occupancy types?

    We have both Single and Double occupancy room types available.

    Double Occupancy is when two people share a room. The room will have two beds, typically twin sizes or one bed for a couple which will typically be a Queen size bed.


    Single Occupancy is when there is one person in the room. The room will consist of a Full or Queen size bed.

  • How does your roommate matching work?

    We can assist with roommate matching for individuals that choose double occupancy and don’t have a roommate.  We also advise you to use our Facebook Group to post your search for a roommate.


    Note: If you are not able to find a roommate match you will have to upgrade to Single Occupancy.

  • What are the available payment options?

    Available payment options can be viewed and selected at checkout from the booking page. Here you will also find the final payment due date.

  • Are the trips co-ed? What is the average age of the participants on the trip?

    Some of our trips are co-ed and the age range can vary between 30 years old to 65+. Our trips are enjoyable for all and you will have free time and time to take in some optional excursions.

  • What is the typical group size?

    We specialize in small group travel and our tours typically have less than 25 people

  • Is the trip refundable?

    All of our trips are non-transferable and non-refundable. Our terms and conditions provides detailed info on our policies.

  • What insurance coverage is necessary?

    We advise all of our participants to purchase travel insurance, specifically “cancel forany reason” travel insurance. “Cancel for any Reason” travel insurance 

     will allow you to submit a claim with your insurance provider that can protect your investment in this trip. Links to travel insurance vendors are listed below.  A google search can also deliver some travel insurance providers.

  • When are finalized itineraries delivered?

    Finalized itineraries are delivered 30 to 60 days before the start of a trip.

  • How do you help prepare the group for the trip?

    We send out a series of emails with detailed information to assist each traveler. We ask that all travelers stay up-to-date on emails.  We also conduct at least two zoom calls to answer any questions and view the itinerary. The zoom links will be announced and delivered via email.


    Note: All deadlines will be communicated via email.
