2026 Brazil: Rio, Rhythm & Afro-Brazilian Culture
Culture, Cuisine, Samba & Sisterhood
May 21, 2026 - May 26, 2026
From May 21–26, 2026, Black Travelers International® brought travelers to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for a vibrant journey celebrating Afro-Brazilian culture, history, cuisine, rhythm, and connection. Against the backdrop of Rio’s beautiful coastline and unmistakable energy, travelers experienced a destination where African heritage continues to influence the city’s music, food, traditions, and cultural identity.
The journey blended cultural exploration with some of Rio’s signature experiences, including
Little Africa, Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, the colorful Selarón Steps,
Brazilian cuisine, samba, and a behind-the-scenes look at the artistry of Rio Carnival. It
was an experience filled with discovery, celebration, beautiful views, and the shared joy of
exploring Brazil together.
Now part of the BTI Travel Archives, our 2026 Brazil journey celebrates another unforgettable
chapter of Black Travelers International® experiencing the African diaspora through culture,
connection, and travel.
Don't miss out on the celebration!
