Ghana Entry Requirements


  • US passport valid for 6 months past your return date and one blank visa page.


  • Yellow fever vaccination taken at least 10 days before arrival for US passport holders. 
  • Note, anyone originating or transiting through WHO-designated yellow fever countries regardless of citizenship, may be required to have a yellow fever vaccination.


  • Malaria protection is highly encouraged (not required).


  • A Visa is also required for US Passport Holders to enter into Ghana. 
  • Non-US Citizens or travelers without a US passport will need to consult their local embassy.

  • What are the available payment options?

  • What are the available occupancy types?

    We have both Single and Double occupancy room types available.

    Double Occupancy is when two people share a room. The room will have two beds, typically twin sizes or one bed for a couple which will typically be a Queen size bed.


    Single Occupancy is when there is one person in the room. The room will consist of a Full or Queen size bed.

  • Do you provide roommate matching?

    Yes we do. We also encourage you to use our Facebook Group to post your search for a roommate.


    Note: If we or you are not able to find a roommate match you will have to upgrade to Single Occupancy.

  • Are the trips co-ed? What is the average age of the participants on the trip?

    Some of our trips are co-ed and the age range can vary between 25+ to 65+. Our trips are enjoyable for all and you will have free time and time to take in some optional

    excursions.

  • What is the typical group size?

    We specialize in small group travel and our tours typically have less than 25 people

  • What insurance coverage is necessary?

    We advise all of our participants to purchase travel insurance, specifically “cancel forany reason” travel insurance. “Cancel for any Reason” travel insurance 

     will allow you to submit a claim with your insurance provider that can protect your investment in this trip. Links to travel insurance vendors are listed below.  A google search can also deliver some travel insurance providers.

  • When are finalized itineraries delivered?

    Finalized itineraries are delivered 30 to 60 days before the start of a trip.

  • How will I exchange currency?

    Ghanaian currency can not be obtained in the U.S.  However, you can bring U.S. cash to exchange or utilize ATMs and Money Exchange in Ghana.


    Note: Most major credit cards except AMEX and Discover are accepted at most establishments in Ghana.


    Note: ATMs and Money Exchanges will provide you with Ghanaian Cedi (GHs) while in Ghana.

  • Any additional information that I should know?

    1. Make sure to bring the credit card that you use to purchase your airline ticket when checking in at the airport.


    2. Make sure to have proof of yellow fever vaccination taken at least 10 days before your departure.


    3. Most cellphone providers provide service in Ghana for an additional fee. 


    4. Whatsapp is used to communicate in Ghana.  Whatsapp can be used across WiFi.  


    Note: Most hotels offer free WiFi at no additional cost.
