The staff gently buckled us into harnesses hidden beneath the fabric, keeping us safe while preserving the fantasy. With wind in our hair and the world below, we soared.

Up in the air, everything felt lighter. Our laughter echoed over the jungle, joy pouring out in every direction. For a moment, the world stood still as we flew forward into the tropical breeze.

Phones clicked. Cameras captured angles that could only be described as divine. But more than the aesthetics, what we captured was Black girl magic in motion — unbothered, untethered, unforgettable.

The Birdcage: Softness, Stillness, and Statement

After the thrill of the swing, we climbed into the famous Bali Birdcage — an open-air wooden nest perched high above the forest. Here, softness reigned. Draped in silk robes and surrounded by tropical blooms, we leaned into luxury.

The birdcage offered a moment of reflection, a chance to take in the beauty around us and within us. For many of us, it became a place of stillness, a moment to see ourselves in full bloom.

This wasn’t about doing it for the ‘gram (though the pictures were fire). It was about reclaiming space in the world’s most beautiful places — and doing it on our own terms.
