Ghana

Being the heart of West Africa, Ghana is where you must be if you want a relaxed and soothing vacation. It is well known as the "Africa for beginners" because it is your gateway to the diverse African culture. It allows you to explore the nation's roots and take a deeper look into the rich history of West Africa.

Enjoy some beautiful beach days at the coast of Ghana and get the relaxed vibe under the palm trees across the beach. We are sure this place is perfect for getting you a break from the city's stressful life!

Benin

While you are in West Africa, we would highly recommend you go to this small country called Benin. While it is geographically small, it is rich in history and has quite a few beautiful attractions for you to visit.

There is Ouidah on the coast, the voodoo stronghold, and the Royal Palaces of Abomey. Moreover, there is a museum where you can find all the details and historical artifacts from the kingdom of Dahomey. Moreover, you will love visiting the Village called Ganvie, where you will see people living in stilt houses on the bay of the lake, a culture that can only be witnessed and experienced in Benin, West Africa!

Cape Verde

If you want to enjoy the paradise view on land, this is the place where you need to be on your next vacation to West Africa. This beautiful island is located right on the Atlantic ocean and has a beautiful scenic view around it. The coast is decorated naturally with beautiful long green plants, and the white sand ends at the beautiful clear water from the ocean.

Moreover, there is a volcano right there that was last witnessed active in 2014. You can climb up there and have an adventure of your own. Also, we can guarantee you that the view from up there is something exceptional and out of this world; a view that can only be witnessed once in a lifetime!

Senegal

Senegal, known as the “gateway to Africa” and its capital of Dakar is home to beaches, boutiques markets, museums, concert halls, and cafes. Visit Lac Rose ( Lake Retba) a lake whose colors switch between pink and mauve. Watch a match between two Senegalese wrestlers or walk with the lions in one of the national parks. The city Saint-Louis, North of Dakar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also known as the Venice of Africa. If you are a jazz fan, then this is a must visit site.

Senegalese cuisine ranges from Thiéboudienne, a national dish of fish and rice, to Poulet Yassa, a dish of chicken marinated in onions. The cuisine has had a variety of influences over time. The result is varied, very rich (in terms of taste, especially) and often left to simmer for hours.

Key Takeaway

West Africa is a vast region with many countries and unlimited tourist attractions, and we can bet that you cannot see all the tourist attractions in just one trip. However, we must ensure that even if you take a trip once, it's worth your time and visit.  Visit all these places and have an experience of a lifetime!
